What is aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy massage is a deeply therapeutic and relaxing treatment. It uses plant oils known as essential oils for the treatment or prevention of disease. It’s a form of complementary therapy designed to treat the whole person, not just the symptom or disease by assisting the body's natural ability to balance, regulate, heal and maintain itself.

History of aromatherapy

The use of aromatherapy oils has been around for approximately 6,000 years. Essential oils were used in Ancient Egypt to embalm their dead. Hippocrates used essential oils to diminish the plague from Athens, and in China essential oils were and still are used as incense, burned to help create harmony and balance to the body and mind.

What are the benefits of aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy can help with many things, since the oils are blended according to each individual client’s personal needs. The massage side of it is highly relaxing, enables the oils to soak deeper into the skin and increases blood circulation.
